Contact search from Today screen

I have a Treo Pro and at one time I was able to do a contact search from today screen by pressing the letters on the keypad. Now when I do that only the numbers come up and no contacts are searched. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

np..jus install the speed dial lookup cab from post#7, here. assign the dial lookup to ur today screen, violla...HTH
