$1,000 Bounty for "Mighty-ing" the Treo Pro

I think what MightyMike (and others) has done with the HTC Touch Diamond and Touch Pro is fantastic. I'd love to see the same level/quality of unlocking and kitchening, and ROM building doe the Sprint Treo Pro.

I'm offering $1,000 to the person(s) that can do this. I'm hoping that this might be an additional motivation for some folks (other than the pure challenge).

Send me a device and I'll do it for free. And of course return the device when I'm done...

I'm glad it's so simple and easy. Then it should be easy money.

I may have to take you up on that. I just don't have the time (and skill) to do it, but I do value the results. I've seen your tutorials/post, and they are very well done.

theres is nothing wrong in paying for it cuz is that is hard work, but why pay a lot of money? $1000 bucks is a lot of cash these days.!

How ridiculously hard would it be to unlock and flash? Can anyone point me to a tutorial for it?

If it is so easy to do and all you have to do is follow a tutorial, don't you think this would have been done already? I'm not trying to gauge your intelligence, but look at all the brainiacs around here and there still isn't a custom ROM hence the reward.

Re: $1,000 Bounty for "Mighty-ing" the Treo Pro

nah man, i'm talking about making a rom for the treo pro.
the thing is making it, tested to see that work at your expectation, look for bug, make apps for it to usefull... some ppl think that easy cake but is not.

these are the 4 basic step in making a software:
planning
analysis
design
implementation

i know unlocking and flashing is easy even a caveman can do it.....

i thought the wanted a rom for his treo pro?

Re: $1,000 Bounty for "Mighty-ing" the Treo Pro

The kitchen used for the Treo's is way different. It operates in a whole different way and is a pain to work with. I did what I could and helped someone with one last fall. Treo central has quite a bit more information on this subject, and that is actually where I got the treo kitchen from...

That is the beauty of the forum.. It is because of the chefs and people like rstoyguy that keep it the way it is. If everyone had to pay to update, we wouldn't need to have the forums. Props to rstoyguy for keepin it real!

i think(from what ive read from his posts)rstoy loves this kinda stuff, or sumthin like that...besides, thats da only reason y i think sum1 wud do sumthin like that for free....for the love of unlocking and flashing..not money...JM2c

I have a lot of love...but not a lot of time. Trying to get things movings. A grand is enough to speed up the love, so to speak.

I figured I needed a big number to get attention. In the past, when I offered $100 or $500, people just ignored it.

I really like the Sprint Treo Pro, and what MightyMike has done on the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro. I just want it combined.

Exactly the reason I made this thread.

Maybe because there aren't as many people that use that phone? Kinda hard to develop a ROM/Kitchen for a phone you don't have.

Re: $1,000 Bounty for "Mighty-ing" the Treo Pro

yea the rom really isn't the hard part, its the unlocker that only a select few can do.

why not? the treo pro actually has a windows key so should be eligible for an official update.

ebay was working on this on TreoCentral.com, but I think it didn't get far...

i believe they are waiting on a ROM update from Treo/HTC for the bootloader stuff

Some of use need a physical keyboard without the slider.

I have a Touch Pro and Diamond, and they are great with MightyROM, but I need the true one handedness and form factor of the Treo Pro.

Let's see, I usually get one day off and I work 70+ hours per week.... So not really. :) But it would be possible after someone came up with the unlocker, I'd just have to search out a kitchen, and figure it out. And $1,000 would compensate me to be outta work for at least a week. I'm thinking it's gonna take a bit longer, especially if I plan on doing it for free...
