I saw one in the store for the first time the other day.. I was really impressed I wanted one.. Until I looked down at my touch pro of course.. But I would definately take that before a diamond...

ok, im gonna try to say this the nicest way i know how. And ill take the warning proudly after this.
First, i think its nice u offer 1k$ for someone to do this, Whether u have the money or not, its a good way to get some ppl thinking. ( i wish i could, but i never claimed to be that dam good.
2nd.. For all u smartasses in here who complain and whine and request demands everyday, and criticize someone for not knowing something so simple, u are a bunch of dorks. So many of u on here have said this is soooooo easy, but yet all u are doing is talking, NO ACTION! But yet let someone make one and distribute on here, all of a sudden you are all doctors and chefs. And want to tell someone about how they should have done this and done that. Hell half of u bums barely have 1k$ after u done paying bills, heres ur chance.
And whether the money is paid or not, u shouldnt care, its an easy task right. And this is a free thing anyway.
So im guess u dummies dont know what yall talking about.. It aint that dam easy, otherwise it woulda been released the same day.

So MightyMike, what do you think of the Treo Pro.
I can only hope that you are able to do a custom ROM for it.

But that pesky unlocker... hence the bounty I created.

So far so good, The device is real solid. Very nice having the keyboard right there for you to use.

speed is great on the stock rom which I can't complain. Obviously having a custom rom to remove bloatware and include much needed tweaks would be an ideal solution, although no unlocker, no rom lol.

I personally rate it 10/10 for a qwerty device. It's great having touchscreen+keyboard all there for you to use.

I definitely love it!

good to hear was waiting for your comments. I know this is not your thing,but there are a few tweaks that we would love to fix that is messed up with the stock rom atleast on sprint. For examplethe sms count issue which is extremely annoying and other things that we have documented on the treocentral forum.

Put pressure on those guys to come out with the unlocker. Yes we will all donate, but the truth be told that sprint and alltel will see a spike in sales on the treo Pro wants the unlocker is out and our favorite chef cooks up chow that will make us all forget about the upcoming Pre,

you said it man no unlocker no custom rom... If we can get an unlocker then count me in to help with anything... Really no need for the money though. I mean im sure everyone wants a grand but Also a lot of people like to see a customized Palm pro.

Mighty,

Yes, the touch and physical qwerty always being there is a huge plus.

I think when the second Pre (non-slider) comes out, it will be huge.

But in the meantime, where is cokeman when we need him?

Emmm, I don't know if it will help, and I don't want to brick my phone to try it, but the couple of times I have reset my phone, during the *228 Alltel activation, the phone displays "SPL Unlocked", during the updating/music, then resets. If the phone were manually reset during this time, would it stay unlocked?

Errr, not happening.. That PRE seems to be the shyt!. Seems maybe a lil big, but hell... so is the 700wx and guess wat.. alot of people still carry it and prefer it over other WM phones. I really dont want the PRE, but if i get to the store and its really the best phone hands down, after i play with it a lil, then its coming home with me.!

we're still waiting on a spl unlocker for the device...nightraven over at xda-developers.com was attempting to cook a rom via microsd...no success at the moment...but now nightraven working something thru alltel's version of this device.

Any moment now...just a matter of time...

I know for a fact it is coming. Once HSPL is released for the Panther, custom roms will start to appear too. Unfortunately it isn't the most popular device, but persistence pays off.

MightyMike is a particular rom chef, so "mightying" it would refer to him making a custom rom of his particular flavor for it.

Its strange how that works with "popular" devices...I tried both the Touch Pro and Diamond, cause they were all the rage, and thought they were both awful...I tried them stock and with .cabs from here which helped a little...I would take the 800w over either of them, any day...I hope the guys like Mike and those who help, get this thing cracked open and Mighty`d so its not so overshadowed by the Pre and TP....

Doing a little research and it seems like there's a post in XDA that says Cheetah/750 extended ROM unlocking tool works on palm pro. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...419354&page=13. Not sure if that would help and if it's true or not. But thought that might help. I don't own a palm pro so I can't test it.
