Enhanced Messaging?????

Anybody figure out how to enable enable enhanced messaging on the Treo Pro yet?

I've got the Alltel Pro if it matters.

Re: Enhanced Messaging

It allows you to recieve messages over 160 characters long.

My girl friend gets a little long winded in her text sometimes and I only recieve a partial message followed by a 2nd one that says "preceding msg modified, media objects removed".

Re: Enhanced Messaging

I'm not aware of any software that will merge multiple texts like that.

Re: Enhanced Messaging

Software will not do this for you.
Its all about carrier protocol.
for example, most cdma carriers use the 160 char limit, some use 130
many gsm carriers use much larger limits such as atts 1000 char limit.
when a text is sent from a carrier with a higher char limit to a carrier with a lower char limit. the carrier with the lower char limit breaks it up into multiple texts which is what you are seeing with the message you get.

Re: Enhanced Messaging?????

In this case it's the phone not the carrier. I previously had a Razr that would accept very very long messages well over the 160 character limit, on the same carrier and same account. On this phone it doesn't even break it up into multiple messages. I get the 1st 160 characters then the following message says "preceding msg modified, media objects removed".

I was lookin for a tweak or mod that would anable the enhanced message feature on this phone or create it.
