Treo Pro on Sprint in January!

WOO!!

So the latest speculation is January 11, 2009 for the Treo Pro to drop on sprint. I HATE taking in part in these rumors, but I REALLY want this phone, and we need to pressure Sprint to pull through. And there a lots of little pointers toward a Sprint release!

I wonder how this tid-bit of news will affect the release of the Treo Pro (850)? If not the release then the quality of the product and or upgrades for the future

I don't think it will have TOO much of an effect right away. I mean it may point to a downturn for Palm but I think that will take a while. Most indicators are showing a January release for the treo pro on sprint.

Yeah I am still seeing the January release. What I was going towards was the fact that they are laying all these people off roughly a month before release and and it is always a month before the release when they (all phone companies) gets frantic about doing last minute updates to the OS, applications/programs, tweaking to hopefully have a bug free phone and more importantly a phone that does what they hyped/claimed the phone can do

Honestly i hope this phone does come, but after seeing the HTC TOUCH HD in person and having hands on with it, i would rather have sprint somehow get their hands on that phone.......if not i will drop my money to have it shipped from england or britain to get my hands on that phone, sorry sprint, but after having the vogue, diamond and touch pro, the HD literally slaps down any phone sprint has right now

Has anyone actually used/seen in person the Treo Pro... ? The only thing that worries me is the size of the keyboard, but I have been recently using a Samsung Ace, and I am really digging the front facing qwerty candybar form factor, so add a higher res touchscreen and I think I will be totally happy. Hopefully the keyboard on the Pro is decent.

I've played with one and I have to say the one "weakness" is the keyboard. the Pro's keyboard is almost a mirror image of the Centro keyboard. not the ideal set up for the heavy keyboard users

Yea a friend of mine got this phone imported and is using it. When i asked to see it and after a few moments of play time, its ok, feels sort of "plastiky" i guess, and with the whole "body cracking" that is being reported, hopefully sprint will upgrade the device or at least make sure that they are manufactored better then the first batch that came out.
