Treo Pro will not sync after upgrade to WM 6.5 from WM 6.1

We upgraded 2 Palm Treo Pros to Windows Mobile 6.5 from Windows Mobile 6.1, now neither device will sync with Windows Mobile Device center on our Vista Machine or with Active Sync on our XP Professional Machine.
Prior to the unlock and upgrade we had NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER with synchronization to either machine. We have changed ports by unplugging and replugging also have tried bluetooth connections etc..still no sync.
Both computers see the device plugged in but Windows Mobile Device Center and Active Sync will not accept them for synchronization.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try deleting and recreating partnership(s) and/or uninstall and reinstall Activesync or Windows Mobile Device Center.

Won't deleting the partnership(s) cause us to loose our data that has already synchronized?

Not if you don't delete the data on your device. Disconnect your device from your PC and then delete the partnership then reboot your PC. Then reconnect your device and setup the partnership again and select which items you want to sync. Then when it does sync everything that you selected will be restored on your PC.

We were under the impression that when we upgraded from Windows Mobile 6.1 to Windows Mobile 6.5 that all the previous information that was stored in the Palm Treo Pro would be lost. It seems that this is the case since none of our previous contacts are in the device at present. We are trying to sync with the PC so that we can get the information that is stored in the PC back to our Treo Pro. Won't deleting the partnership erase any hope of doing that? Deleted partnership rebooted computer attached device started Windows Mobile Device Center all worked fine. Thanks for the good direction.
