Re: Bluetooth and external ring
Hey Wrangler. I have the 800W and 2 BT headsets:
Plantronics Discovery 655 amd a Jabra BT8040. With the 655, when I receive a call, both the headset AND the phone ringer work. With the BT8040, the headset rings but not the phone itself. Jabra must be suppressing the phone ringer. By the way, how is the incoming voice volume on yout Jabra? My BT8040 is pretty low. Hope this helps. Rob |

And RoberMR, the volume is great on that one. I think the main reason is that the earphones that came with it fit so snuggly. |

Re: Bluetooth and external ring
After my earlier post, I received some different ear gels from Jabra for the BT8040. I think they are made for Jabra stereo headsets - different material, different shape. It fits better in my ear (more comfortable) and somehow it sounds much louder.
I'm a happy guy now and don't think I'll bother with the hack. |

Re: Bluetooth and external ring
I too am looking for the same. I am running a Jawbone with my 800W and I can't keep it in all the time, but it is a pain to turn it off everytime I take it out, but if I don't the ringer on the 800W will not ring and the vibrator in the phone is not strong enough to notice. If there is a hack or a program that would solve this, I would be grateful!
Thanks, Ted |

Re: Bluetooth and external ring
I did some more testing and found out that with the BT8040, if you turn off the A2DP option, then it rings both on the phone and the earset.
I hope this helps, Rob |
