just spoke to a rep. on the phone, he confirmed what that other sales associate told me about all the issues with the 800w.
He said the release was delayed, was supposed to be this month/next month but said would be towards the middle of the year.
dont get the 800w!!

The Palm Pre is a completely different animal than the Treo Pro. The Pre has a brand new non-WM operating system (WebOS). The Treo Pro has been delayed TBD on Sprint, and is the next Treo in line after the 800w.

Not to mention there is no WM 6.2. And with the way things are going with the Treo Pro it'll be out the same time as the Pre.

no win 6.2? well thats not what the sales guy said, specifically said it would have 6.2 because mine has win 5.0 and he said that would be a serious upgrade for me.
by the way, i cant get 6.1 to work on my 700w which is why i dont have it in case any ones wonderin

I have the Sprint Treo Pro (technically the recalled version) and it clearly has WM6.1 on it (says it right on the bootscreen).

Dannzeman is right--there is no WM6.2. There are different builds of Wm6.1 and WM6.5, that's it. The 800w and STP have nearly identical OS builds, only real differences are in IE and Outlook.

The 800w is a great device if u aren't trying to customize it to the hilt (like HTC devices). What it does, it does VERY well.
The only time I've run into issues is when I was hacking the device. When I use it as it's built, it's powerful, fast, responsive, and meets my phone, email, internet, and messaging needs PERFECTLY.

Yep. It is powerful. It is responsive. It does meet the phone needs when a Bluetooth headset is not required. It handles messaging perfectly. However, it bogged down in situations where my Touch Pro does not. It dropped Bluetooth connection for the headset routinely where my Touch Pro does not.

I would wait.

I've never had a blurtooth issue on my bluetooth headset or m MotoROKR Stereo headphones. And I've had 3 treo 800w's (thanks to my proclivity to spiling liquor on them in the club)
