Your opinions are needed/wanted...

OK... I LOVE my Sprint Mogul. But now my wife wants a new phone. She really likes the Palm Treo 800w. I have never owned a Palm, so I don't know what to expect. I love the fact that it runs windows mobile, so everything I have on my phone, I can put on hers. But... I literally have no time to make this decision. Her birthday is tomorrow (Friday), and I need to make a decision by lunchtime so if I need to buy this thing, I can. So... I don't have time to search and search and search on here. So... if you love/hate your Treo 800w... share with me why. I need to know the pros/cons of this phone, so I can get it for her tommorrow... if that's the decision I make.

Thanks in advance...

Re: Your opinions are needed/wanted...

I love it, to me it's like my Mogul except for the Treo 800W has more memory and a front-facing keyboard, which makes on-handed typing very easy. The battery life on the Treo 800w is very poor in my opinion, however.

I love mine. Never any problems except for the battery which now an extended battery is available.

Re: Your opinions are needed/wanted...

my opinion this is simply the best device available on the Sprint network at this time. A very well made PPC that works very well, aside from a lack of battery power that is.

Re: Your opinions are needed/wanted...

I switched from the Mogul and I don't miss it. I completely underestimated how nice a front keyboard is. I don't see myself ever going back to a slider.

I use mine mostly for business, though I do keep the email checking schedule to once every 30 minutes. With a few minor (IMO) setting adjustments, the battery issue hasn't been a problem for me. I do charge it every night but I make it through the day.
I have always used a car charger as a back-up for all the phones I have ever used so having it handy for the 800 wasn't a new thing for me.

But to be clear, the mogul battery does last longer than the 800 but the other benefits VASTLY outweigh the battery issue.

Re: Your opinions are needed/wanted...

I think I've post this before but here goes:

I have the Mogul for work and the Treo 800w for pleasure. I use my Treo for everything now, work and play. The Mogul has become pretty much just a phone to me. No brainer in my opinion. I agree with most on the battery thing but I have never had a PDA battery last me all day without charging. I can't do a fair comparison with the Mogul battery because I don't use it as much anymore.
