how do I have spell check be automatic, like my BB did, every time I hit send for an email?

it should be automatic already, there is a setting in Start Menu | Settings | input | word completion, look for a check box called "auto-correct"

that's different... i have that.

often i type quickly and when distracted... i like to do one big spell check before it sends (aka BB)

Windows Mobile does not have a spell check feature. It has auto-complete and it has auto-correct (for commonly misspelled words and typos), but no spell check.
