wififofum alternative

I'm a newbie, so I apologize if this question is ignorant...

A coworker suggested I try wififofum so I can pinpoint the wireless access points in the office, troubleshoot connectivity, etc. I've installed it, but it crashes on me constantly. I think the longest I've been able to run it is about 3 minutes.

Does anybody have a free alternative? I mainly just want something that shows me signal strength.

wow, nothing?

I can't even get the app to run now... I get the spinning hourglass equivalent (whatever you call that circle), then it just closes.

Re: wififofum alternative

Try a soft reset (reboot), I bet you have too many aps open.

Also be sure to turn on your wifi before opening wififofum, that has been an issue in the past anyway.

Re: wififofum alternative

That's the first thing I tried, actually - makes no difference.
