Re: the most aggravating part of my 800w...

Sorry to fork the conversation but I feel it's relevant. Does anyone know of a channel with Microsoft and/or Palm where us discerning users can provide thoughtful feed back for the product managers and developers of the products? I asked a Palm IM support person about this and they tried to tell me to click the Site Feedback link on the palm.com site. I don't think that's that proper channel for the type of feedback that I would like to offer about the new 800w.

Update:
I've posted the same question to the Palm community help forum.

The title of this thread should read: The most aggrivating part of Windows Mobile...This is not specific to the 800w

Ummm, not necessarily. If the number is only in the "location" field (as is the case for most conference calls), you can't cut and paste it from the calendar app (Subject, time, date and location info is all non-selectable). If the number is in the *body* of the calendar appointment you can simply cut 'n paste, but to the OP's point, you shouldn't have to do this, you should be able to simply hit the number to dial....

Yep, will work, but everyone who ever would send out an appointment would have to do this...which is unlikely

choose to Edit the Calendar entry and you can Copy and Paste from pretty much anywhere.
But yes, I agree, auto telephone # recognition would be the best solution.

Re: the most aggravating part of my 800w...

another work around would be to hit the voice command button and tell it "dial" and then read the number in the appointment.

i've searched many of the windows moble team blogs and they are aware of this problem. this feature is only missing from windows mobile 6.1 professional devices(with touchscreen and stylus), smartphone devices(no touchscreen and stylus) can call numbers embedded un appointments. hopefully we'll see it fixed in the next update.

You can call from within appointments using TodayAgenda. It's a today screen plug-in that lists tasks, appointments, notes, etc. And it's free.

late,
Coz

Here's the in-house link for Today Agenda

late,
Coz

EDIT: If you have a lot of appointments, etc to keep track of you also might consider buying PocketInformant 8. It is an extremely power calendar, task, etc. application. And yes, you can call from within PI8.
