Low ring/notification volume? This get fixed/hacked yet???

when previewing the sounds in the start, settings, sounds&notifications, the volume of the sounds is great! however when you apply them to a ringer, voicemail alert, email alert, etc., they are MUCH softer when they are being used. has this been fixed/hacked?

I had this problem too. Called Sprint support. Soft reset ended up fixed it for me. Fixed poor speaker sound quality also.

Re: Low ring/notification volume? This get fixed/hacked yet???

There is a registry hack for this. Start by getting a registry editor, such as PHM Registry Editor, then go to HKCU/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/Ring and change the AttenuationCategories value to 4. That may even be too loud. I tried 5 which distorted. Play around and get to a level you like. I am at 4 and set the side volume one from the top. Works great. Works for all volumes, text, phone and email.

Re: Low ring/notification volume? This get fixed/hacked yet???

Hahaha. I tested my device today and the low ringer volume has returned since it was fixed with a soft reset. I wonder how long it's been quiet, I guess I don't get many calls.

Thanks for the tip DM8! the reg edit did the trick and I'm hopeful that this setting will hold.

Re: Low ring/notification volume? This get fixed/hacked yet???

my ringer came out great!! got a lot louder!! was better then hoping volumecare would come out with a prog that would crack the volume. The only problem I still have is that while my ringer is a lot louder, my messages/notifcations are still low in volume. Am i doing something wrong?

This hack has worked after soft reset. I did do a hard reset and had to go back in the registry. My message notifications are not as loud as my ringer but still loud enough to hear. I will look for an edit for that as well.
