Live Search Uninstall

Does anyone know how to uninstall the version of MS Live Search that comes with the TREO 800w? Apparenlty when you open the one that comes preinstalled it prompts you to upgrade. I went ahead upgraded and now I have to versions installed. The only one I am able to remove is the newer version.

Re: Live Search Uninstall

You can not uninstall the 2007 version because it is the ROM. The newer version (200 on your programs menu is the one that reads (Live Search) and not the 2007 version that reads (LiveSearch).

Although you can not uninstall the ROM, you can delete the shortcut from your Programs Menu from your File Explorer.

Re: Live Search Uninstall

Thanks I will do that. I was hoping to remove it but I guess as long as I don't see it that will work just fine.

Re: Live Search Uninstall

yeh, that is annoying. I had to delete the short-cut too, I kept scratching my head when certain features were there sometimes and not others.

Re: Live Search Uninstall

I had the same problem. Upgraded and have two of them now. I'd love to delete both. What a worthless program.

Re: Live Search Uninstall

worthless, I use it almost exclusively. Instant traffic and GPS routing. Local/positional searches... granted most of the other stuff is irrelevant.

Re: Live Search Uninstall

I used Live Search a lot on my Q and found it very useful. It's even better now that I can use the GPS portion.

Re: Live Search Uninstall

worthless...are you kidding me? Speak and in less than 10 seconds you can have directions routed via GPS to basically anything you can think of....not to mention movies, gas prices. I will probably use this program more than any other besides email. Forget 411 or texting google ever again. Probably easier to find a number using that than a google search on your PC.

Since I started using Live Search I have not had to call 411 thus saving me $1.79 each time I need to find a number or address. I know Sprint Navigation does similar things, minus movies, but its going to take me a little while to transition.

Re: Live Search Uninstall

Just exactly how do you do this? I can't seem to find the shortcut, to delete.

Thanks
