Verizon 700w/wx 1.22 Update

I am curious about the update. I dont seem to have any problems with my connection at the moment but am curious if updating can make things better? of course the down side is if it srews things up i will be really mad, I had the 700w and went through 3 of them before verizon sent me a brand new 700wx it has version 700wx-1.22-vzw should i try the update? (i dont use bluetooth very much) thanks all..... Don

Basically the new update reallt only touches up the BT stack and data connection. I don't notice any BT difference on my WX, but data is another story. I went from having to try to connect to my data modem 3-5 times every time, to a smooth one time connection EVERY time now.

The bottom line for you I guess is this: If you don't have any problems connecting to your data plan, your probably OK....if you do, the update may be worth it. Given a worst case scenario, make sure you have a backup, and if you brick, VZW/Palm (from past experiences I have seen in here) should make good on the device.

Crap, this doesn't appear to be available for Sprint! Wondering if there's any way to downgrade to 1.13 in the meantime? We need the 1.22 update for Sprint badly, as 1.15 breaks PAM tethering. If 1.22 is not going to be available soon, can you advise me on downgrading back to 1.13?

while doing the 1.22 update, my screensaver kicked in. Now it's stuck in the splash screen and will not reset at all. I tried pulling out the battery, hard reset and etc.
Is there a way to reconnect to the phone and restore my old rom ?

I recently installed the 1.22 updater on my Palm 700w and paired it with a Plantronics 855 headset. It paired perfectly and stereo music sounds great!

However, I have yet to find anyone talking(complaining) about the fact that voice calls inbound or outbound only play in one ear. I know that phone calls can't be in stereo like music. But it would be darn nice if I could simply hear the person's voice in both ear buds.

Am I missing something in the config? I have looked everywhere. Does the update not include this this kind of feature? Plantronics just shrugged their shoulders.

I have been having the same problem with my bluetooth devices. My GPS no longer works since I updated. What do I do now? Any ideas????

nothing but BT intermitent drop outs breakups etc since the upgrade... Not good for me...

You can probably get a replacement device from Verizon. They sent me one. I think the BT issue may be hardware-related to the updated ROM.
