My apologies, I'm still trying to guage your technical awareness, because you minimize it when you talk about your skills, but you do a lot that really shows you gotta a good head on things.

Mike/WA,

If you have 750 rom, you might want to look at this from XDA:

Quote:
I can't seem to extract the files from the ROM, but if someone who has can look for this file please: "mailcmdlinehook.dll". Its listed in several spots in the Treo 750 registry and I do not have a copy of it. Could be worth giving a try.
Quote:
Hey that looks promising. It's tied to sms and mms.

Can one of the TyTN users check to see if mailcmdlinehook.dll exists on your device? Treo 700's don't have it, but it's referenced in the registry. hmm.

The file does exist in the 750 rom. It's looking more promising.
(reportedly the Palm app functions flawlessly on the TyTN, but no more has come of this line of thought in that forum)

I have to agree that some of these files seem corrupt from the ROM dumps. I would love for someone with a Treo 750 to upload the files direct from their unit. That smstrigger file is really bugging me as it will not run by just selecting it. I have tried both versions of the file floating around and neither will run cleanly.

why won't palm just release the darn thing. I really feel for you guys and your hard work. the guys at Palm are probably laughing their butts off, watching all of this. anyway, I totally respect what you are doing. I installed the file as soon as it was posted. seeing all of the same issues you guys are.

That's sort of the problem, those with 750s are not good with hacking and Treo's have very bizzare file system setups, making normal rom dumps a bit more complicated.

It would be very ironic if all of these problems we're experiencing are caused by either a) incomplete file/registry structure or b) corrupt files

At this point I'd just give it time and we should be able to figure it out eventually. It's only been <72 hours.

Why is Palm jusy holding off on releasing this, especially when they had it in their promo. This is no acceptable from palm to just not supply it to their end-users. Maybe it is Sptint since they can't even get basic SMS to work well
