Palm hopes people will buy treo's because of this product.

Palm paid people MONEY to develop this product.

Palm took the time to make this program FLAWLESS on their device.

Palm expects to be reimbursed for this time, money, and product by increased sales (long-term) because of this program that they have created.

Putting this program on other devices is stealing their product, which they MAY hope to SELL to other manufacturers that can pre-install on their devices as well.

Look how long it took for hackers to INSTALL the program, which they had in-hand, already produced, on the TREO 700, which is very similar to the 750. There are a lot of settings involved, and a lot of registry edits. You think they did all of this work so people who buy Samsung or HTC branded devices can reap the rewards?

I'm not preaching, I was guilty too. But I understand the drama here, its pretty obvious why they have a problem with it.

This is all true, but Palm really did this to themselves by not making this app available on the 700wx as was advertised. They made it available on the 750 which still to this day is not available to any U.S. carrier. Since I own a 700wx and the app was originally intended to be on the device I don't feel bad one bit about installing it. As far as I'm concerned I already paid Palm and had before several times. The rest of you that are installing this on other devices can feel guilty, but not me. :)

LOL

I'm not knocking anyone for doing it, thats not my intention at all, but those "what's the big deal?" or "why does Palm care?" questions make no sense to me at all. Hey, I was guilty once too!

How long does installing this take? I don't even have my MDA yet, but I have soo many things to do with it when it comes ;).

I dont feel guilty at all....
They put a lot of other stuff on there that I do not use....So I basically traded software... << IS THAT A GOOD EXCUSE ?? >>

But really.....I am interesting in joining an email circle or PM circle.....

Hosting shouldn't be a problem, Mal or Han, PM and I will see if we can *find* a free solution.

Thanks again, and I look forward to an update!

I would like some help (link, etc) if someone doesn't mind I still have a really old version.

Where can I get the Palm SMS Thread Beta 4 cab file?

Ex-Repoman 12-16-2006 12:53 PM

is anyone else's messing up?

i've hard to hard reset like once a month because it will randomly get a txt message, but instead of going to the threaded SMS, it goes to the old inbox, which doesn't exist, i still get the damn notification, and when i click on it, it goes into the threaded SMS and i don't have any unread.

i love the threaded SMS, but i may just use the stupid microsoft one if this keeps happening.

Simple enough fix; Palm should release it as an update that will verify what device it's being installed on. That would keep everything legal and show consumers that Palm is dedicated to customer appreciation & service.

I'm so tired of buying products that have glitches & bugs and the manufacturers expect us to be the BETA users and find the bugs for them. Then they take forever releasing patches/updates, if they get released at all. Look how long it took to release the SMS bug?

Ok, I'm done bitchin'.
