I have updated the first post to include a warning. Make sure you do not have any unread messages before starting installation. Also, it is recommended to turn off phone radio so that no messages arrive in the middle of the installation process.

it was working for me but now it is not sending out my messages. i have to go into my outbox to resend them. but i know that i did not have all 13 files so i am trying to delete and try again.

I have installed Beta 4 and it is working great, the only issue I am having is the MMS isn't working correctly. When I try to send a message, when it goes to send the message the program quits. I am using a vx6700 on Sprint. The options say it is set up to use Sprint, but I don't think it's the correct settings because it won't work. Has anyone found a way to fix this?

Please read the first post MMS is NOT working... at least yet. The only device it seems to be working on is the HTC Hermes.

I go to the step to install the CAB....

And when it finished, my phone reset on its own. When it came back up, the Messaging application worked fine as is.

Do I need to complete the steps?

if ur phone is preaku 2.3 then yes u need to transfer the files into the windows directory.

the problem i am having is it wont send the message. i have to go into my out box and resend everything. nevermind i found out what i did wrong. i wasn't using totalcommand to move everything into the windows folder, i was just moving the whole palm thread folder over. this is an awesome forums you just need to follow their steps right and everything will work, thanks guys! and gals!

I followed the installation instructions exactly. I downloaded the .CAB, installed it, made sure all system files were showing, copied all 13 files over to /Windows and then did a soft reset.

After my phone came back up, I have the new SMS app, however anytime I open it it closes after about 2 seconds.

I have tried everything I can think of, I have tried the install 4 times, I KNOW I didn't miss any files while copying, I counted them to make sure 13 got copied over.

I have the Cingular 8125

Please help me, I do not want to Hard Reset but that seems to be my only option at this point.

don't you mean a ppc 6700 for sprint? the xv 6700 is verizon.. ??
