my 6700 just locked up and required 2 hard resets. TXTMAN constantly running in the background is still my only solution

hmm, maybe you could run a script at boot that changes those reg settings back. I've seen others do this before, but I forget exactly how they did it. Anyone?'

Edit: oh, one thing. Are you waiting long enough after you make the reg change and soft reset? If you do it too quick it will not stick.

Not sure how to run the script.

As for the delay before soft reset, I think I have waited long enough for it to stick. I think the last time I tried I waited for more than 1 hour!!! :(

How do you copy the files over to Windows?

I have installed the .cab file and started the "palm messaging" program... the program works great except when I send messages they get stuck in the "outbox" and I have to manually go in and "resend" them which is actually only sending them for the first time,... can somebody PLEASE PLEASE HELP!

ok.. well I have discovered by readying around, I am having the same BETa 3 problems other people are having.. BTW. I am using a verizon treo 700w.... I installed beta 4.cab and then when I try to install it on the phone, it brings a message that Install was Unsuccessful and I dont have priveleges... any ideas?

Did you just install the CAB file???

You need to copy all the files, including the hidden ones, from the Palm Messaging folder to the Windows folder. If your messages are getting stuck on the Outbox it means that the app was installed incorrectly.

Ok.. well I downloaded the Registry Editor but I cant find where to copy the files to.. just the general "windows" folder? or anything more specific? and do I copy the files from the zip i downloaded?

Wideawake 11-20-2006 01:24 AM

no reg editor just resco file explorer or Total commander, then unhide all files in rom go to program files/palm messaging, copy all 13 files into the windows directory.....thats it. ;)

It's not a reg edit....

Your not copying files with the reg edit program, but with a file viewer such as Total Commander from the \program files\Palm threaded messenger folder to the \windows folder.

Edit: sorry, wideawake beat me to the punch :D
