How is it that the Treo 700wx is faster than basically anything else out there?

My wife was the WX, and I have the Touch.
The wife loves the WX, she specially loves the keyboard that is right there it's like "BAM it's in your face", like I said she loves that it is right there.
I like my Touch, and I tend to be productive with it, ya just gotta know how and congifure the phone how you like to use it to have it effective.

Well, I have to admit, my 700wx makes my Mogul look like a toy. My company gave us all Moguls I am on my third one now. I still carry my 700wx and this is my first one, 2 years and running strong. I do all my company business on the wx and use the Mogul basically for texting and company phone calls. I think I may have convinced management to switch to the 800 when it comes out. I just hope its as solid as the 700WX.

My only beef with the 700 was the tiny screen. Not many PPC apps (games especially) worked with the tiny square screen, as most assumed 320x240 minimum. Now that the new 800w will be 320x320, I think that issue will disappear for me.

Nevertheless, it may be higher resolution, I still wish the screen size would be bigger. For me, smaller is not better for a PDA, a phone maybe, but not a PDA. Add a half an inch to the height and width and correspondingly make the screen bigger, then I'd be much happier. This is what I liked about some Blackberry's. They were easier to hold and thumb-type on, AND easier to read the screen.

I still have my old 700w. I wish I had a 700wx, but upgrading was just too darned expensive for a simple RAM upgrade to the 700wx. The 800w may just be the one I finally upgrade to.

i recently had a touch for about 2 months and i just switched over to a treo wx and man...i love its stability and the tactile qwerty!!!! gotta do some reserch on the 800...thanks for the heads up!

Agreed...I hope the 800 is going to be an adequate upgrade/replacement for the 700wx.

Just trying to keep the old 700wx thread alive and kicking! I truly hope that the 800 will a worthy replacement/upgrade for the 700wx. I've had my wx for over two years and it would be hard to give it up. It's served me incredibly well in that time and unless the 800 turns out to be light years ahead of the 700wx I don't know how I can give up on it.

I have to admit I am with you on that, I played around with my share of current PPC/phones, and I don't see ANY lure/reason/advantage of upgrading (for lack of better term, I don't consider it an upgrade) to any other device at this time. I am thinking the only disadvantage of going to the 800 will be the screen size....I know larger is better when it comes to screens, but a lot of the skinning apps will not work, and we will need to start over. Small price to pay if it does pan out to be a great device though.

On the positive side, even if we get the 800, and it turns out to be....well.....crappy, we can always go back to the trusty wx....right?

On a side note, I have noticed the wx forum slowing to a crawl lately, whats up with that? No new apps or questions lately LOL!!!
