Side button and Voice Recording
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay, I'm thinking this must be a stupid question because no one else seems to be asking it. Either that or I'm not searching correctly. One of the things I've loved about Windows branded PDA's is the ability to do quick voice recordings, via a hardware button. For some reason, Palm discontinued ability to do so with the 700wx (Sprint). For those of you that have owned early PPC models, usually the button was located on the upper left side of the device. Pressing it would automatically initiate a recording session and releasing it would end the note. Am I the only one missing this functionality or am I doing something wrong? For any interested parties or developers, there is an interesting discussion here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...=279585&page=8. I was able to make the solution work using my "OK" button but lost it when I tried to assign the funcationality to the side button. Unfortunately, I was not able to switch it back to the OK button either! Thanks, treosophy |
There's a way to do this. It's basically using MortScript and a script written by hannip. Check the post HERE and read the beginning of that thread for more info on MortScript.
