Re: 700wx custom rom
roms with the extension, *.ruu, are encrypted (and sometimes compiled roms) used with updaters from a computer (think: formats like *.nbf and noID updaters)
the *.nb0 format is essentially a container for a fat filesystem, in other words: raw; which means that it will work to flash via the sd card. the formats may have different extensions from device to device, but there will typically be two types for a device...one encrypted, one raw...this is not unlike any of the other windows mobile devices... now...if any of you want to start posting the custom roms that you have made for this device (start a new thread for your custom rom), it might help to build the momentum for folks interested in porting different akus or wm6 builds. |

Re: 700wx custom rom
Well my test device never worked out, so I haven't tried, but has anyone tried flashing a Verizon WX? I think if that can be done, then the hard part is hurdled (VZW is tough that way....want control)!! I would be very interested in trying if I know it can/will work.

Re: 700wx custom rom
I'm thinking about buying a 700wx on eBay so I can play around with cooking a ROM without bricking my real one.
I won't need service on it to try this, right?

Re: 700wx custom rom
Thats why we need to progress carefully...
(Some people also bricked their phone when doing my 700p to 755p conversion... because they did not read the complete thread) We can try installing WM5 AKU 3.3 first... |

Re: 700wx custom rom
List posted on TreoCentral of what you can remove...and what if you remove will brick the phone.
