What carrier are you using?
I've been under the impression that cell phones have not required a "1" for any calls since they went digital (with the exception of maybe international calls). Does it not work for you to dial without the "1"? |

I am using Bell Mobility up in Canada. Yup...It does work without the 1 but all my calls are long distance so when I click the button to listen to my voicemail it just dials my area code followed by my number. Then it rings a couple times and I get the "This is a long distance call... Blah blah blah charges will apply. We are now connecting your call" I just want to have that one in front so that I don't have to deal with that message. Thanks for the super quick reply btw!!!!

If you go to your speed dial on your today screen and tap and hold on the voicemail go to edit then advanced it gives you the option to add a number have you tried that. I have never used it so I have no experience with this option to go from. Check it out and let us know.

I believe you want, from the today screen:
Right softkey (menu) Preferences -> Phone settings Dialing tab Check the box that says "Always dial 1 in front of area code" Now every time you make a call it should dial the one in front for you, even if you only dial 10 digits. And welcome to PPC Geeks, hope you enjoy your stay! |
