Cursor movement

When you are typing a email/ text, etc. on a 700wx and you use the d-pad to move the cursor to go back and edit, pressing up or down causes the cursor to move to the beginning or end of the email/ text, ext.
Is there a way to set the up or down d-pad to make the cursor move just up or down a row in the document instead of to the beginning or end?

Couldn't you just press and hold the left or right on the d.pad to make them curser juts flow throughtout all the text..?..As of being able to due that pressing and holding up..Never Seen nor herd of it being done...Hopefuly someone might pick this up nd mess with the reg.and come up with something...
