Sending MP3 sounds via picture messaging/Texting Messaging characters

Does anyone know of a patch/download/modification to allow MP3 files to be used for picture messaging? The device will only allow .wav .mid .qcp. Also, when you send a text(SMS) message u can only allow 160 characters for each message. its a pain to try to limit wha ur saying or send 2 messages to say one thing-its either tha or calling that person but who wants to use a PDA for tha...
