And if you wanted to follow this on your own, here is a summary of the threads the discuss the issue.
Obviously, you can't "prove", from a logic standpoint, a negative (that burning out won't happen) from peoples' experiences, but you can get enough info to make your own educated decision. The actual users of the Centro battery, which seems to be quite a few, have not reported any problems, not even one. My guess is you'll far more likely get hit by the Pre cracked screen defect than by the Centro battery burning your Pre.
