Static IP in WiFi Problems

Has anyone experienced problems trying to get the pre to be seen in network neighborhood? I've tried configuring my wifi statically, and it says that its connected, but my pre and my laptop can't see each other. I put in a static ip address on my laptop, then assign one for the pre, and nothing happens.. can't see each other.
I have 2 mogul's, my old one, and my wifes... neither one has any problems going the same thing.

Is this just an issue with the pre?

I contacted palm about this issue. They had me goto Device Info, More Info, Preferences, Quick Tests. It fails Wi-Fi Code 25.

This is my second Pre, and both of them did the exact same thing. Any ideas?

Re: Static IP in WiFi Problems

Mine has trouble connecting to invisible networks, even if I enter the info manually.

Re: Static IP in WiFi Problems

So has anyone been successful getting your pre connected statically to a wifi network?
