I'm aware it cannot be done with activesync and requires an exchange server. What programs are you using to sync up outlook and how are they performing?
I use a program from the palm app store called PocketMirror. You install a component on your PC and then connect your Pre to your local wireless network to sync. It works great, though it doesn't sync tasks.

So what PC/desktop program do you use? Do you still use outlook?

I've been doing some looking at Calendar options for the Pre. I've read that some users are syncing MS outlook to google calendar, and then to the Pre. That method doesn't sound very efficient to me (but I've never done it personally).

Anyone use Thunderbird or other calendars? I'd like to sync tasks too....

Re: Thinking About Making Move to Pre instead of TP2 Help me Decide

Ok, so my wife is really wanting a pre. She has a TP now and we'll be out of our contract so upgrading is an option. Question is don't live near a Sprint store to play with the phone. It does have a capacative screen but does it have a glass face or plastic(iphone-glass tp-plastic). That' my only question.

Re: Thinking About Making Move to Pre instead of TP2 Help me Decide

I don't think I could go back to my diamond after using the pre. It does has a little of a short coming with the apps not completely there but they are coming. Multi tasking on this thing is awesome. Great for road trips with all the mapping software which works flawlessly.

The screen is 100 times better than the diamond and tp because of it's size and responsiveness. I can't say the diamond was bad but when I compare them, I just don't see an advantage over the pre. The Htc products are great at what they do being windows and having a endless apps catalog, but that's it.

I looked at all my apps on the diamond and the only thing I really miss is opera mini. The pre has an awesome browser but sometimes I just want to just look something up quick without having to use multi touch to resize the page.

I am going to use the phone for the 30days and then make a decision but I am really leaning towards the pre. Ooooh did I mention the functionality of the notifications not being obstrusive. I'm sorry but windows 6.5 isn't even an upgrade and to think of buying the tp2 and looking forward to that kind of an upgrade. No thanks

The Palm Pre has a plastic screen that is seamless. Meaning that the rounded edges and tinted screen has absolutely no seam where the housing and screen meet because its one solid smooth piece. If this makes any sense... It's a very nice design like no other.
