Re: Protection for the Prē

I guess it comes down to the pricing since Zagg charges $11.95 without any sales tax, which in New York is going up to just under 9% thanks to bloomberg who is the billionaire mayor.

I was unable to use the touchstone as a charger using the computer.
The only way I got it to work was with the wall plug, which I found on ebay for $13.00 with free shipping.

So now I have three touchstone charging bases...home, work and car.

As Tony the Tiger says, they're GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAT!

I think I'm going to order one of these. They sound pretty good.

Re: Protection for the Prē

I've been using one of these on my Diamond since I got it (6 months ago now I think):

http://www.boxwave.com/products/clea...m-pre_3558.htm

...it's held up extremely well. It's taken a few scratches, but took months for any to show up that are noticeable. Best part is I can't even tell it's there when using the screen.

Re: Protection for the Prē

I went through 3 Boxwave protectors from 2 different shipments and they all showed scratches within minutes. When I called customer service they initially were nice.
They replaced it once.
The second time they made it sound like it was my fault instead of admitting any fault of their own.
At first they said that their protectors are scratch PROOF and then changed their tune to scratch resistant.
Their customer service sucks. I had to send pictures of the stock stylus I was
using and then with all their delayed responses and my follow up emails to get a response, I said all this time spent on their dfective products just is not worth it.
A company is only as good as how well they stand behind their product and their warranty.
My Boxwave experience is the one I encountered as others have been satisfied.

I took the monetary loss regarding money spent on their protectors and moved on.
I finally found Zagg which I originally held off on because of the tackIness people were speaking about but ordered anyway and am very happy I did

Just curious, did you try the Crystal Clear protectors or the Anti-glare ones from Boxwave? I've only tried the Clear ones and like I said didn't notice any scratches for a long time (maybe I just wasn't looking close enough).

Would you say the Zagg's are a lot more tacky than the Boxwaves?

Re: Protection for the Prē

I used the CrystalClear shields from Boxwave.
While the Boxwave shields don't have any tackiness to them, the InvisibleShields from Zagg do.
But I think it is highly overrated in regards to the effect the tackiness has on usage, at least in my case.
For me, the most important properties of a Screen Shield are as follows:
1) Clarity/Transparency
2) Scratch resistance
3) Longevity
4) Ease of use*
4) Ease of application**

* most shields are pretty usable although I have not used them all.
**obviously if it takes hours to apply a shield then it is not worth the effort but most shields available apply pretty easily, although I have not used them all.

Ordered the phantom skinz with code summer50 on their website. It came to 12.47 with free shipping and includes 2 sets of skins. Anyone try these yet?
