Re: 720/800 mhz boost for your Pre
I'm running the uberKernel now with Govnah on Screenstate settings. 800 mHz while screen is one, 500 while it is off. so far, so good!

Re: 720/800 mhz boost for your Pre
Ok, I admit it. I switched to a Hero. While it's a good stable phone and operating system with great battery life, I missed the speed and sophistication of my Pre. I activated the old girl back up and have to say I'm happy to be back on WebOs. 800 patch is still stable and battery life is ok for daily use at work. Been going since 5:30am with moderate use and at 74% at 7:10pm. With the hero I just couldn't get over the speed I was accustomed to with the Pre plus it's kinda cartoon looking.

Re: 720/800 mhz boost for your Pre
Welocme back my good sir... I too was swayed to try the Android Schmandroid jazz, but was not satisfied with all the hoo ha it brought. I have used the Pre, Moment, TP2, and Hero. Currently I am rocking the TP2 (my first love, good ol' reliable) and the Pre (my mistress shhh... dont tell my TP2, something new and different for me to play with). Maybe, the EVO will win me over to the Android side but so far I have not been impressed.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I believe the 800mhz patch is only for Pre and Pre Plus devices... Unfortunately no Pixi's allowed at the moment...

Re: 720/800 mhz boost for your Pre
Anyone still interested in OC'ing should check out the Uber Kernel. Install that using PreWare, and install another app called Govnah. UberKernel is based off the latest WebOS source code and contains OC points at 720 or 800mhz, plus a screenstate feature that can set the CPU lower when the screen is off to save battery. After UberKernel is installed, you use Gonvah to set the overclock points.
I installed it on my Pre Plus this week, and it's working great! NOTE: the developers intentionally set this so the OC points reset at each reboot, at least for the time being. Here is the discussion thread at PreCentral: http://forums.precentral.net/palm-pr...rclocking.html |
