Re: Verizon i910 6.1 and 6.5 Kitchens Ready
I usually use Package Creator. It works the best for me but doesn't always produce good OEMs. Another place to look for OEMs is PPCKitchen.org.

Re: Verizon i910 6.1 and 6.5 Kitchens Ready
ok I'm at this part:
Rename your ROM and SYS folders. Copy the xip.bin from the new ROM folder and paste it into the kitchen base folder. Open shell.cmd in kitchen and type this exactly how you see: osnbtool -c os.nb 1 xip.bin but I keep getting an error "cannot open the source uncompress file" any 1 have any idea what I'm doing wrong. EDIT.... Figured it out BTW Bwolf, thanks for info on package creator seems to work great so far. Last edited by mydnyt; 07-11-2009 at 01:16 PM. |

Re: Verizon i910 6.1 and 6.5 Kitchens Ready
Thanks for sharing everything Adrynalyne! I'm thinking about trying this cooking thing. I tried to read everything I could, but I may have missed a few things. When you say:
Isn't that what all the cooked ROMS are doing? Using your cooked rom and changing them? Also, to update your kitchen, do the new version ROM and SYS folders need to be moved into your kitchen folder? Or does the xip.BIN overwrite everything in the original? |

CF03 kitchen is updated. Sorry, the OEM has not been trimmed, and my tweaks have not been added.

Re: Verizon i910 6.1 and 6.5 Kitchens Ready
I want to start ROM Cooking and I'm glad you posted a stock ROM, I was just wondering if there were any guides or anything of how to put WM 6.5 on it. I'm not a cook so I don't have my own 6.5, and I want to use a fresh 6.5 so that I can add/remove stuff myself. If not then oh well I'll just stick with downloading ROMs.

Re: Verizon i910 6.1 and 6.5 Kitchens Ready CC20 and CF03
6.5 is a learn as you go thing, but it acts mostly the same when cooking. Check out the i900 guides. Most should apply to the i910, just ignore the extraction parts, as I have done it for you.

Re: Verizon i910 6.1 and 6.5 Kitchens Ready CC20 and CF03
I got the 21232 to 23004 and created a NEWROM.bin. So now w/ the CF03 kitchen, I changed the ROM folder w/ the one provided. then followed the 23004 update from the "Copy the xip.bin from the new ROM ..." and I did get the os.nb.NEW, but the bin I built, would not load past your "nucular orbs" in the boot up. ??? Did I miss somthing? Thanks

Re: Verizon i910 6.1 and 6.5 Kitchens Ready CC20 and CF03
Ok, so you should have taken the SYS from the 23004.7z provided before and put it in your 6.5 kitchen. THen you should have taken the OEM folder from the CF03 kitchen, and put it in your 6.5 kitchen. Then you should have replaced the ROM folder with the new one for CF03/6.5 into your kithcen. Then, you need to take the os.nb from the CF03 kitchen and put it into your 6.5 kitchen.
Then you rebase the os.nb by copying the xip.bin from the ROM folder into the base of the kitchen, running shell.cmd with the command osnbtool.exe -c os.nb 1 xip.bin. I know, confusing. Future kitchens won't have this problem. I just didnt have time to upload a 6.5 specific kitchen. |
