Verizon hasnt "crippled" a phone since the touch pro, and they undeniably have the largest network with the most coverage. The only legitimate complaint against them is pricing.

Re: Sprint losses and customer defections continue

I was a verizon customer for 9 years. I hated them the whole time. I got tired of being nickel and dimed. I was paying 160-170 a month for 2 lines and 700 shared minutes and only one had unlimited data.

I dumped them last month, and moved to Sprint SERO. Now I pay 60 a month for 2 lines, each with 500 minutes, unlimited text, and data. So I am saving close to 100 a month, have more features, AND sprints network is about 6 times as fast as VZWs. Plus, in my area, Sprint has equal coverage as VZW.

On VZW I was lucky to get 200kbps and 400ms pings. On Sprint, I regularly see 1.2 - 1.9mbps, and around 100ms pings. Their speeds and call qualiry are far superior.

Oh, and a side note... I hated going to the VZW store for phone issues, they would weasel out everytime. So far with Sprint, I took a TP to the store as its charge jack was loose....in about 15 minutes, the guy come out, handed me a replacement, and already had my contacts and other data copied over. No questions asked. I for one am glad I left VZW for Sprint. I just wished I had done it 9 years earlier, had I known about SERO, I would have

Re: Sprint losses and customer defections continue

Glad your happy with sprint. I'm definitely not leaving Verizon though, they've been good to me so far. I have 3g pretty much everywhere I go and I pay 159 per month for 2 data plans. Sprint is worse than AT&T in my area, so they arent even an option. If I had to pay more to stay with Verizon I would because having 3g everywhere I go is worth the extra money to me. If Sprint could offer the same service as Verizon then it wouldnt make any sense to not save money and use them, but they cant, so I stay with Verizon.

Doesn't Sprint have roaming agreements with Verizon? I thought the two provided identical coverage.

Unfortunately not . If they did I would switch over and start saving money in a heartbeat. If Sprint has good coverage in your home area and the places you travel to then it would be stupid not to use them and benefit from their lower prices. If you could combine Sprints prices and Verizons network it would be the dream carrier lol.

+1 on that breakmyfootoff. VZW does have a huge network.

Re: Sprint losses and customer defections continue

Verizon charges an arm and leg to roam off so Sprint mostly gives the middle finger where coverage overlaps in return.

Perhaps a dumb question then, but who's network am I using when I'm roaming?

I always assumed I could connect to Verizon's network (when roaming) and since roaming is included, it was all free. I guess I'm confused.
