Y'all do realize that the article is refering to T-mobile in Europe, particularly in the UK, and has little bearing on T-mobile in the US, or any relevance to the Apple/AT&T relationship...

It seems likely that the next carrier in the US will be Verizon, although the device obviously can't be the same iPhone (e.g. 3Gs), since it is GSM.

To-date the other three big networks in the UK do not have unlimited internet, but have small-print for example vodafone 500mb per month. It will be interesting to see what the network offerings will be to compete with the defection from unlimited internet on the 02 network.

500 mb isn't a lot
but it does beg to question is ATT exclusivity about to end? and what if big red gets an iphone? Both are scary prospects but IMHO if verizon does get iphone, it would make things interesting for htc followers...

AT&T will not have a exclusivity contract with apple past 2010(AT&T is trying to extend thier contract) according to different ATT reps. They have also said that if VZW gets the iphon it wouldn't be as featured as the att version. a iPhone lite per say.

Funny thing is I had a dream I was watching a verizon iphone commercial last night. ATTs exclusivity end in the middle of 2010 and the will be launching the iphone when they complete the LTE network... Vzw is already starting LTE in seatle and boston

contract ends next yr for apple/att...

if they make them cdma also, expect ever carrier to get it sooner or later... iPhones may not be popular to us, but every carriers sales and customer base would increase if they had iPhones available

id buy an iphone if it came to cdma/sprint. i would never switch to at&t or verizon.
