LOL guys the service is actually up in the Northeast, all XOHM devices work there, its just not official.

I've confirmed a XOHM (WiMax) Nokia N-Tablet works in Philadelphia, 3 months ago.

Other TBA areas may have it up too...

Sprint is retarded. They arent going for larger markets because they cant cover them so they're going for medium to smaller cities so they can claim fast speeds and fantastic coverage. Sad really.

Their infrastructure is vast and varied. We have no idea why they chose to do certain cities first, but I'm sure they gave it a fair bit of thought. It could be the need to upgrade the backhaul links and not just the towers...

Seeing as how they don't have any 4G cell phones on the market and none of their major devices will have it from what I read I'm sure they see it is less important in the larger markets. It will roll out in time

What good is a huge 12mbps capable downlink when the backhaul is only 1.5mbps?

Re: Leaked Sprint Roadmap names new cities for WiMAX 2009 Rollout

Orlando wasn't listed on these maps until way after Orlando had evdo and rev a. Almost like Sprint secretly slips it into the attractions and theme parks without letting the major population hubs know they are letting Orlando in on it.
