Re: Microsoft Posts Details on Porting an iPhone App to Windows Mobile

That's not really fair considering 6.5 looks (to me and some others) much better than tf3d, tf3d2, senseui... Winmo 7 is going to be freaking awesome, why all the hate? phones without multitouch will be obsolete anyways pretty soon, so why not make it a requirement, at least teh apps can be more streamlined and not made with the thought of "well some phones can't support the multitouch capability..." Let's just see what it's like before we start killing MS.

Yeah MS can set all the hardware requirements they want....
Doesn't mean any hardware manufacturer is going to use them!!

HTC could just as easily go the Linux route as they are making the android for google and bypass MS completly!
Take a look at what they are doing with TF3D and you see they are trying to get rid of every vestige of WinMo in their phones!

Just because Ms builds it doesn't mean the hardware manufacturers will come!
Because they will have to come to some other system to implement multitouch before MS even releases WM7!

Still not going to help you porting these apps since WM7 isn't due to ship until late next year if then even! 7.

Re: Microsoft Posts Details on Porting an iPhone App to Windows Mobile

Where is the KoolAid that you people are drinking?? This is Microsoft and their pathetic NT based operating system. So what if they throw a cool UI on WinMo7? An OS is more than just a pretty UI. WinMo is like any other MS spaghetti coded resource hog OS. This news just shows that MS is desperate to gain traction for WinMo. Motorola, HTC, and Samsung are betting big on Android. The real news for me is that they are looking to buy Palm. Why would they want Palm? Market share? Nope. Maybe they are looking for the perfect hardware/software combo. Not to mention that buying Palm gives MS the rights to WebOS. So now what? WebOS will become WinMo8? Yuck! I wish WinMo a slow and painful death (long overdue). Maybe then Microsoft can finally dedicate to what they did long ago and seem to have forgotten .... make great innovative applications.
