Yeah these are already on the market: Samsung Impression, not an extraordinary phone but it does have OLED, I think Samsung, LG, and a couple of others have OLED screens in the pipe for smartphones and some AMOLED (next generation that will likely eliminate backlights all together) on the drawing board

OLEDs however are more likely to deteriorate and lose light over the years compared to LEDS, especially the cheapies
