Yea sounds like a good idea and it is but for an unlocked phone being 600 to 700 dollars most regular American's is not gonna like that. Ok you but an unlocked phone gsm since its easier that way from htc your with at&t well its unlocked so it works right out the box no need to actived it so they lose money(the carrier) on that end. Than the service is all your really paying for so if you keep buying unlocked phones no contract renewals so they kinda lost money there. They sale phones at subsized prices so they can lock you into a 2 yr contract where they make there money mostly on the back end. Now I'm with you with the whole unlocked thing seeing that most of the phones I buy gsm is unlocked and with sprint its mostly full priced so I'm usually paying somewhere between 400-650 for all my phones anyway. But if you told a regular person they had to pay 600+ for a new phone everytime they might go with paying 250 for the contract renewal IMo
