WM 6.5 by 4th quarter of 2009

The latest expected release date for WM 6.5 is by the end of the fourth quarter..

As quoted by Steve Ballmer

"You can expect to see phones running Windows Mobile 6.5 by the fourth quarter of this calendar year."

However, May 11th is shaping up to be the day that WM 6.5 is released to OEM... With the various testing, modifications, and customizing that takes place by the various carrier's and device manufactures, WM 6.5 won't be released to the public (by OEM's) for consumption till the 4th quarter...

now that seems believable considering that third quarter sees tpro 2, it wouldn't surprise me that internationally, wm 6.5 will be an upgradable option in about 4th quarter and phone companies choose whether or not they want current phones to upgrade

Great, but the damn thing was announced at mobile world congress in February. If this gets delayed they might as well announce its release again at the 2010 MWC.

Phones with 6.5 will be out the 4th quarter, however the OEMs will receive 6.5 on May 11th.
