Re: mail2web live will cost atfter may 1,2009

In addition......

The Calendar and Contacts are "pushed" just as they were using Mail2web, so any changes on either side get synced immediately assuming you set it to do so under Activesync -> Schedule -> "As items arrive" on your device.

Your e-mail on the other hand uses the IMAP protocol which only "pulls" e-mail from the server. I have mine to sync my e-mail every 10 minutes. Certainly doable for just about anyone.
Of course you are able to also send e-mail through the same server directly from your device using Google's SMTP protocol.

Google does an excellent job of explaining how to set up your device here.

Exclamation Dr. Morley Exchange Hosting... AMAZING!

Dr. Morley (drmorley) over at XDA offers an awesome service. Been on exchange with full functionality (web access, WAPI, and Outlook 2007 access) since about November.Gone down (planned maintenance) 2 times since, both at "oh dark hundred" hour in the morning. I get one GB and full functionality with him for 5 bux (paypal subscription) a month.

Just email him to set up: fmfore@drmorley.com, or search drmorley at xda-developers.com. He is an awesome guy, and his services are as reliable as mail2web. Let him know that Byron S. sent you.... (it helps me, the poor student :P).

Awesome service - more personal than mail2web, and INCREDIBLY reliabe - he hosts from an award winning service centre..

His 5 dollars a month include 1GB of storage, active-sync (push email), Outlook access and web-access, contact and calander back-ups (which make flashing a breeze).

Hosts on the most current exchange 2007 and always just a 10 minute email away of anything goes array - which is rare.

Again, let him know that Byron S. Sent you!

Re: mail2web live will cost atfter may 1,2009

My last question is how do I get my contact & calendar events into gmail. Mail2web wont let me export them and I do not have access to a computer based outlook program. So The only place I can sync them from is my phone. I tried syncing my mail2web contact/events and then deleting the activesync server. But that just delete all my contact and events before removing mail2web as the exchange server.

i.e. you cant sync then change the server to m.google.com instead of mail2web..

I honestly do not remember how I changed the servers on the phone, but I did it in a way that did not delete the info on my phone and then managed to sync with google's server flawlessly. Frankly, I was pleasantly surprised. All i did was follow the instructions from google's sync website for winmo 6 devices and it worked great.

If I recall correctly when you go into "Configure server" in the server address field initially input G@G which doesn't go anywhere, and then you can change the other information without having to delete the server source and therefore not deleting the info on your phone.

The best thing to do is to NOT upgrade/downgrade your mail2web server profile until you have switched to your new server.

I think I am going to go with sherweb. It's $8.95 a month, a bit more expensive but I think it offers better options, oh and 3GB instead of mb's 1 GB.
