Re: mail2web live will cost atfter may 1,2009
from what I understood in the email both versions include the HTML, the $4.95 version also includes POP/IMAP support. The reason I went with the PRO, $9.95 I think, is for full exchange support on outlook at home, as well as the TP. Usually I just read emails when on the go, but don't sort them till I get home, and OWA was always painfully slow for, expecially with the 25emails per page limit. Being able to connect to outlook makes sorting emails, and managing contacts much much easier.

Re: mail2web live will cost atfter may 1,2009
The day I received the e-mail about the switch I researched my options as far as hotmail, other exchange services and sites that will sync your contacts, calendar, and e-mails.
I decided to go all google, and it is working just as good as mail2web did for me. Google sync does the Calendar and Contacts using the exchange server feature on the device, then you have to use the imap feature in Gmail to sync your e-mails and set up a new mailbox in messaging on your device. (In Gmail settings when you click imap there is a nice link on how to set up your device.) It was easy enough to set up and I did not lose anything when I deleted the exchange server from the device. Your contacts, Calendar, and e-mails remain on the device, just make sure on the device you choose to "leave items on the device if there is a change" until all is synced with the new server. I had been using mail2web as an agreggator for my work e-mail, now I just use google as the aggregator and it works great, and best of all it is free. Gmail will also send e-mail in html format. Just be advised when you delete an e-mail on your device the Gmail server creates a new label called "Deleted" so that you do not see it on the device, but still have it on the server and with the label it is easy enough to either create a rule to immediately delete it or to do it manually later. Hope this helped.

I've long used a dedicated gmail account to aggregate emails from various sources before forwarding to mail2web to get pushed to my phone. I don't particularly care about syncing contacts and calendar (especially since mail2web has caused thousands of duplicates over the last couple of years), but I'd like to find a way to get gmail pushed directly to my device. |

BEGIN RANT
Wow, some of the comments made on this thread really tick me off. As a small business owner (unrelated to tech), I know what it's like to try to make a tiny bit of profit. It literally makes me laugh out loud to think people are calling m2w greedy *for not giving away their services for free.* If that makes them greedy, then what does it make you for demanding to take advantage of their services for free? Greedy... Sorry if I offend anyone, but I think the whole "I-want-everything-for-free" mentality is what adds to the decaying state of our economies. I see people complaining how m2w didn't include every feature with their FREE accounts. Why would a company give you their best service in terms of features, for free? It just doesn't make sense. Look at the dotcom bust - a business can't survive if it doesn't have revenue. It's wonderful if someone wants to share something for free, like many of the apps and ROMs on here and xda, but 99% of that is just intangible time and effort. But any company, in this case m2w, has actual bills directly related to the service/product they provide, operating expenses, licensing fees, employees, office space rent/leasing, etc. How are they supposed to support themselves and provide you with a service when you think you're above having to pay for it? Now don't get me wrong, I'm dlsgusted and outraged when a company overcharges their customers. But in this case, m2w is not. Where I live a pack of gum is $1.49 at the supermarket. Personally, I think about 3 packs of gum a month is a very reasonable price to pay for an Exchange account. Even with the crappy economy I see all my friends burn hundreds if not thousands of dollars a month on frivolous things like designer handbags & clothes, bar tabs, movies, concerts, restaurants, etc. If you have the money to pay for a top of the line smartphone, the money to pay ~$80/mo for phone/data, but not $4.95 to pay for a service you previously enjoyed...well then that's just ridiculous. On the other hand, if you were dissatisfied with their service, then it's understandable that you want to try another solution and that's a different story which I fully support. I've used mail2web for about 3 years. Since I got my Apache in January 2006. While things may have changed since then, at that time they were the only provider to offer integration with my domain. I run my own server (including secondary DNS at a different data center), so it was a snap to setup the DNS records. In those 3 years I've never experienced any outages or downtime on their end, their support was near instant (even at 2 AM) and very helpful. I have a PC laptop, a Macbook Pro, a desktop at home, a desktop at work, and my Touch Pro. All of which are seamlessly and nearly instantly synced with email, contacts, calendar, etc while maintaining the independence of my own domain. I'm very satisfied with m2w and will continue to use them as long as they maintain the high level of service they have provided me for all these years. /END RANT |

To all M2W users: Why not use Seven Beta? Push Mail, Instant Calendar, Sync Contacts etc. http://community.seven.com/forum/main.php |

The reason I don't want to use seven is because I don't want to install extra apps to check email and sync contacts and calendar.
