It does sync contacts. But I think its only one way. Like if you update the contact on your hotmail account, i dont think its updated on your pda. But I do know for a fact if you update or add a contact on your pda, it is updated on your hotmail account.

Does seven beta work by activesync? Since its in beta, do you think they'll eventually charge as well when it comes out of beta?

Here's the email.

Dear mail2web LIVE Customer,

We have some very important changes that will affect your account that we want to let you know about. We're very glad that you've found your mail2web LIVE account useful. It has always been our intention to provide high quality and affordable Exchange solutions, and we have done our best to keep the mail2web LIVE service free over the years. However due to our planned upgrade to Exchange 2007 and to changes in our licensing agreements with Microsoft, there will be some changes to your service.

If you no longer want to keep your account, do nothing and it will be cancelled on May 1, 2009. If you want to keep your account, please read on...

Choose Your New Plan

If you want to keep your account active, you will be required to log into the Control Panel before May 1, 2009 and choose the new plan you would like to upgrade to. Here are the available options:

Our new free service is called mail2web LIVE Basic and includes an ad-free Outlook Web Access 2007. Please note that the ActiveSync and BlackBerry services are not supported with mail2web LIVE Basic.

The new Exchange 2007 version of mail2web LIVE will be available for $4.95/month and will include Outlook Web Access 2007, ActiveSync, POP3, IMAP4 and SMTP Service and more. We are also offering a 60-Day Free Trial of this service that includes ActiveSync, allowing you to try out the new platform before you commit to buying!

Our new mail2web LIVE Pro service will provide full access and include all the mail2web LIVE features plus a free copy of Outlook 2007 or Entourage 2008 as well as the MAPI access and RPC over HTTPS service required to configure the account in Outlook. The new mail2web LIVE Pro service is available for $9.95/month and we are offering a 60-Day Free Trial with full functionality!

Thats it in a nutshell..............

If you go to the page that used to offer the free service it redirects you to a new one where they offer you a 60 day trial.

Re: mail2web live will cost atfter may 1,2009

I've recently switched to a windows live domain hosted via hotmail with push to my phone. I have my own custom domain (ex mydomain.com) and started using that as my personal email address (ex me@mydomain.com). Since it's a hotmail passport as well, I can use that same email address for messenger, xbox live, msdn, hotmail.com, etc. I sync my email and contacts with outlook (via outlook connector), my touch pro (via windows live for windows mobile) and hotmail.com. For my calender I'm using google sync to sync my phone's calender with google's server, then google calender sync app to sync it with outlook. The result is everything in sync with one email address/signon for me to remember and use forever. No more switching email addresses to and from ISPs, etc.

Hopefully it doesn't if so that would suck. It's really good at pushing email.

No, Seven doesn't work via Activesync, it works OTA, just like real push email. I use it for my Gmail account. One thing I really like about it is that emails read on your TP show up as being read at your original provider and vice-versa, not instantly but within a few minutes. What's amazing is that Seven Beta is even faster notifying me than my Gmail Notifier application. I would REALLY hate it if they started charging for it, though I honestly would consider paying for it if the price was reasonable.

Seven has always been a paid service (http://www.seven.com/howtoget.united_states.html), but they keep the beta version free.

FYI seven send 1 international SMS with every email you register, if im not mistaking int SMS are like $0.30ea but lots of people cry about it.

I use it and my emails hit almost instantly... same with my contacts.
