4G CDMA is dead...
It seems that there will be no UMB (Ultra Mobile Broadband or 4G CDMA) now that the creator of CDMA, Qualcomm, has ended its development of it.. I posted the link to where I found the news below...
http://www.phonenews.com/qualcomm-ab...ma-ended-5488/ To summarize.. Qualcomm created CDMA technology, and it also is dominant in GSM. The 4G GSM is called LTE (Long Term Evolution). No CDMA company has embraced UMB, and they are instead flocking to Wi-Max.. So Qualcomm has killed UMB, and will only help develop LTE... |

Re: 4G CDMA is dead...
It is nice that they decided to get their over-controlling asses off the project, but it's kinda depressing too...
Oh well, how much longer until WiMax?

Eh.
I don't think Sprint will go bankrupt. They definitely have a strong customer base in non-english speaking customers. I'm not saying that to be racist in any way shape or form, but Sprint has a massive amount of Spanish speaking subscribers. |

Re: 4G CDMA is dead...
I would not mind if everybody used GSM.... Easier to switch phone's and having SIM cards would be nice... But I have only used CDMA, so I know not of any pitfalls that GSM might have...
