I'm not surprised by V$W's move...but this is really kinda cold!

They can't come out with any "new" phones, then, when they rumor to roll out their refreshed line-up, they "require" this data plan to go along with it?
Granted, T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint have sone similar things of late with their new phones.

This really bites for those of us who use Wi-Fi instead of their 777 mode.

Makes a person NOT want to udgrade their phone!!!

I just tack a $15/month unlimited data plan onto my Sprint plan and it's fine. I don't understand why some carriers charge so much more.
