Is Instinct going to get the marketing/promotion that the touch diamond/pro deserve?

One of my buddies did a week of training out-of-town for the mobile section, and he got back and we were talking and I asked if they had mentioned what I view as the windows mobile "iphone killer" (maybe not a successful one, but that's what I see it being offered up as by HTC). Dude, SprintNextel like is spending $100,000,000 (100 million) dollars on marketing the Instinict. That is the most any company has ever spent on marketing a phone. I do bit think Sprint will spend anything near that on the Touch/Touch Pro when they come out around Sept-Nov time frame. I do not believe that Sprint spend any money what so ever for tv ads on the current HTC Titan aka Sprint Mogul. I have seen some print ads for the mogul but not a lot of them. One problem is most people wont spend 300-400 dollars on a phone that is subsadized and the full price of 600-700 dollars.

did you not read the rest of the posts.... the phone will be 200 not 400 and according to my rep they spent around 150million and they normally spend about 50 million....this includes poster flags banners ect... that you see in stores

im not sure if this is a done deal or just some rumors but our sprint rep told us sprint MIGHT pull a killer move and reduce the price of the instinct to 129.99!!! if they do this it will be a killer move....but like i said dont freak out on me if it ends up not happening bc our rep told us it MIGHT happen

You're correct on the 129.99 move...but as for Iphone killer... not going to happen. I played around with it extensively, and it's just not all it's hyped up to be. But there again the Iphone to me isn't all it's hyped up to be either. Meh.

well thats a good thing to hear that im not the only one to hear it.....and if an iphone lover came into out store they would prob leave with and instinct.....we have the vids from nowisgood.com playing lol....i just cant stand the iphone internet speed god its so slow.......and i like that they actually showed the true speed of the instinct...its not soo fast that its unbileavable but its still pretty quick

i also just found out that sprint wants as many customers as possible to have this phone that they will even allow some one year upgrades to get the 129.99 price! of course we have to check to make sure sprint will allow each customer but still if youve been a good paying customer for about a year you can most likely get it for the 129.99 price its def worth a shot though
