Sprint's WIMax to spearhead National Wireless Revolution
With the anticipated plan of a National Wireless Network (WiMax) in serious building stages involving communication giants such as Sprint, Clearwire, Comcast, Google etc... The wireless networking or Wifi as we know it may have seen it's final glory. This revolutionary wireless network is supposedly going to be offered to consumers at an affordable cost and basicly revolutionize the way Americans browse the internet. So basicly all of you Sprint customers be ready to Clearwire customers as Sprint is going to sell it's Mobile Network to jump aboard this new Tech venture...read it here WiMax. Wimax is supposedly essentially gonna make all of North America one big Hotspot. If they pull this off it should basicly crush all competition.. Game over.

Man, Wimax has changed from what it was "supposed" to be when it first started getting talked about a couple years ago... back then, it was supposed to be a hardware solution to wireless networking, rather than a data network...

Re: Sprint's WIMax to spearhead National Wireless Revolution
Isnt LTE the 4G of everyone else? Isnt that supposed to be everywhere and over 50mbps, where WiMax is going to be 11mbps and only in cities?

That's all on paper right now... LTE is also 2-4 years away. By then, WiMax 2 will be out and about. |

LTE is 2 to 4 years before the first test cities START to implement it. You are looking at probably 2014 before a nationwide LTE network is out. Maybe we will have flying cars by then...

Re: Sprint's WIMax to spearhead National Wireless Revolution
Sprint has a two year headsetart on AT&T and Verizon in this arena. T-Mobile could potentially get in the game, that is if D-TeleKom buys Sprint! If Hesse can get WiMax running in the next 24 months, he will be king. Remember, Forsee was planning to sell the spectrum and bail on the project. Moron.
