There is a new interface device by the company making Redfly (laptop display and keyboard for smartphones) that will allow you to work or make presentations on any usb host (laptop, desktop, projector, conference room setup.)
Uses standard USB keyboard and Mouse. VGA connector for any monitor source. Bluetooth and USB connection to smartphone. Presently just WM 5 & 6 devices. http://celiocorp.com/pdfs/smartphone_interface.pdf This pdf also mentions connection to in-dash automotive screens (Hip, hip, hooray and where are the NVidea cpus when you need them.) The graphic on the pdf indicates showing multiple screens from the mobile device at one time. That would be great for developers "The REDFLY Smartphone Interface System consists of two highly optimized components; the REDFLY Software is installed onto the smartphone to compress and manage communication to the new display. The REDFLY Graphics Engine renders the video on the new display with an accelerated input/output architecture."

Re: Exciting New USB interface for Smartphones
I think this device would be great for meeting rooms. Pre-installed monitors and keyboards at each seat, just walk in, sync up or plug in, and start taking notes or sharing presentations without carrying around laptops, foldout keyboards or notebooks.

Hey Nautica, this is a little different than the laptop like device we discussed before. You choose the receiving device and implementation. This device could find real use in business situations where the cost is not as critical as for us enthusiast. This is a black box device that opens up a lot more possibilities. As far as I know, no price for this device has been published.

Re: Exciting New USB interface for Smartphones
One thing that would be great though, would be a software solution that does the same thing on a UMPC. If Redfly can render on a black box device, then one should be able to render using a UMPC. One value though is the simplicity, ease of use, and learning curve in a business climate.
