PPC-6800

http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/mobi...n=expand,51263 As of now I have no good info except that US Starcom has it out there, it has no external antena, and from the pictures (which seem odd) the keyboard opens the the other direction. Hard to imagine what the upgrades would be, but I am guessing (no facts here) higher resolution screen, better camera, more memory, and that is probably the end. I seriouslt doubt built in GPS, but there is always a possibility. I do like the lack of joystic though...mine has an issue and it has become super sensitive to the point it repeatedly makes phone calls if my thumb even hovers near it. Now I suppose is the time to Google around and find more info on this device. I want to know if it really is thinner or if it just looks that way.

Just a note : the link is a mobile version of Pocket PC Thoughts since I am using my 67 to post this and didn't feel like trying to find the story on a full size page. So hopefully it looks ok for you all.

It is nice though!

So instead of me liking the i830 and the PPC6600, I guess I can now change my likings to the PPC6800. Even though I can't afford one today, I will have it soon. Mike and I will share it b/c you all know he has to test it out. Or at least that's what he says, lol.

So far, the latest confirmed stats on the 6800 are 2 MP camera, CDMA network (for Sprint and Verizon), and a big boost for PPC users is the memory upgrade, 128 MB allocated to RAM and ROM for a total of 256 MB.

UT-Starcom may intentionally delay the release of the 6800 if Microsoft releases the new WM 6.0 version so that UT-Starcom can have another feather in their caps the same way they were the first PPC device to have WM 5.0 when the 6700 was released in 2005.
