Moto Q9h 6.1 ROM update?

Been awhile since I posted or visited this site.

Ok I bought a Moto Q9h last year in August from Vodafone NZ, now I was informed by one of my insiders from Motorola NZ that an update was due for the Q9h at the end of 08? I bought an iPhone in early 09 and use that daily however still wont to use the Q9h as back up (going fishing or places I don't wont to take the iPhone etc...).

Well it didn't come, and the only thing I get from Motorola and Vodafone is silence... I know there is an update for AT&T which wont help and there are other ones out there, but what would work on my device, is there a ROM update I can use that wont brick my handset or deactiviate anything?

If I could update to 6.1 I may be inclinde to keep the Q9h as I do like the format and keyboard.

If not then ebay here I come. may look at a touch screen device.

the most recent rom update i have seen is 6.5 for the Q9h which is found in this thread
