It's just strange that it's SO picky. Not that activesync is necessary, but that is a PITA (Pain in the ...) but that using a cable from a 2.5" notebook USB drive causes the Q to get totally pissy ("that's not an authorized cable!") when all that I was looking to do was to get the thing charged. It's really hard to use when it's got less than 10% power left and you're no where near a "activesync" equipped pc and the charger is 15 miles away and there are 100 USB connectors in the room. (he works at a lan center).

10% you just hit the nail on the head. the usb port cant provide enough power to charge the battery and run the phone when it is that low
