i am mobile right now, been spending the past week packing everything up and getting ready to move. so i have had little time to be on pc at all, kinda sucks. this is still on my list of things to do, and it will get to be done. there is one thing i learn young, and that is to not give up, once you start something you finish it. and so i will get this. and it will be sooner rather then later.

on a side note, vzw is getting diamond2, so im sure sprint will has well, i doubt one cdma carrier would get it and not another. so look forward to that.

Any idea on a release date on that D2??

Woah, awesome!

I started poking around Google today to see if anybody had done anything neat with the Q recently, and I stumbled upon this thread.

Awesome work, I can't wait to see the final results!

Q9m, Q9c, Q9n, and Q, are all the devices that I have right now that I can test on.

Back in March trintek posted his procedure for modifying an .sbf to contain a custom boot logo. This was done using a couple moto-specific bootlogo-editting utilities, that operate directly on the monster file.

Don't know if that procedure is relevant or helpful at all in your endeavor, but as far as I know, this was the first time somebody had success flashing a modified .sbf file to a moto Q.

Can't wait to see your reults, this will be a major accomplishment!
Thank you for the effort on this, and all the other stuff you've done. (such as your 10-21-08 Vogue Manilla ROM which I'm still using!)

Hey con, where you able to port the XIP? Everytime I try, it always says not enough space. I have to delete FileManager.EXE.0409.MUI for it to run "realloc p" properly. Even then, I have exclamation points in my Map.txt.

yeah i can get the xips to port fine, i have done 6.0 6.1 and 6.5 xips, i use LennySH xip kitchen to do it, and that just uses the xip.bin from donor and device and combines parts taht it needs to

Good job!

I also use SBFCodec.exe to get the os.nb(CG40 file)
a question is I can use osnbtool.exe to split the xip.bin from Q9c wm6.1 rom ,but I can't deal with motoQ.sbf use the same tool,
I have try to exchange the cg33&cg40 files in different .sbf file, but flash fail at a 99%.
I have used your Q9c.xip and Q.xip and got the new.xip by XIPKitchen.exe,Can you share the SYS and OEM file?
so I can rebuild wm6.1 ROM to test.

I've tried making a custom rom for the q9c also, I read somewhere you need to re-write the crc info at the beginning of the .sbf to get the flash to get all the way to 100%, now that doesn't garauntee that the flash will work. (still trying to manage that myself...)
